Weddings, Work and Woofers

It's been a while since my words have graced the limitless confines of Cyberspace, but not without reason. Life has been hectic.

Plans for the wedding are going really well though it is puting a bit of a financial strain on things. Am kinda hanging out to sell the house we have on the market, coz I'm kinda getting sick of having no ready cash, but we are surviving.

Nearly everything is pretty well arranged. Just got to lock in a DJ, and arrange the suits, flowers and cake and choose some food for the evening. We need to book the flights for the honeymoon, and that leads me to my next subject......

Work.

Work sucks. As if I'm not stressed enough already, they've asked me to solve the problem of how they are going to commission a plant while I'm planning on being on my honeymoon. I mean, I know that it's crucial for the company to get this up and going, but this is kind of pushing the sacrifices for the sake of a job a bit far. It's not as though they didn't have plenty of notice, coz we told them 9 months ago the date of the wedding.

I'm dreading bringing this up with Jode's, coz she's going to be less than happy, and frankly I don't blame her. I'm not real happy about it either. I've been pretty well fucked around over the years with respect to the expectations on travel, and I've had pretty much enough of it. I mean, I don't even know if I'll have a job next year, and they are asking me to move my honeymoon.

Is that reasonable?

If you read this entry, I'd appreciate some perspective. Leave me a comment as to what you think.

Anyway, onto a much more cheerful, and bouncy subject, Woofers.

Our woofer (Satin) has graduated her second bout of doggy training, and is about to embark on the journey of becoming a big brave grown up dog, with the "real" dog training. She's not particularly good at healing, though she can do all the other tricks very well. The problem is, healing is kinda a big prerequesite for doing all the really cool doggy training stuff like Agility, so the woofer and us are learning to heal.

Lot's of treats for Satin, lots of headaches and frustration for us as she learns.

She's only 7 months old, so there's plenty of time to get it right, and I'm sure she will. We need to spend more time walking her though, but it's been hard of late. The mornings have been cold and wet, and the amount of stress we've been under has left us feeling pretty weary. Getting out of bed is a real chore at the moment, but we are working on improving that. Getting back to exercising is sure to help with the problem, but being short on cash is leaving us kind of hamstrung at the moment.

Blah......

I just want to shut my eyes for week.

I think I might take some leave.
